Acceptance of Terms Through Use of This Website

By using our Website and/or purchasing any products or services, you confirm that you accept and agree to comply with:

  • these Terms;

  • all policies, guidelines and rules referred to within these Terms; and

  • any additional terms we may draw to your attention to, prior to your purchase of any products or services from or via this Website, by phone or by email.

If you do not agree with any of the above, you must not use the Website or purchase any products or services.

These Terms and Conditions were most recently revised in June 2025.


1. Definitions

In this document and our website/materials, these terms hold the following meanings:

  • “A*-A”: Refers to the top A * and A grades achievable in A-Level examinations and awarded by an authorised Examination Board.

  • “7-9”: Refers to GCSE Grades 7-9 as awarded by the relevant Examination Board.

  • “Agreement” / “Terms”: This legally binding arrangement between the user and Us.

  • “Course” / “Science Tuition Academy Course”: Any digital learning program made available via our website for our Users.

  • “Examination Body”: A body authorised to provide qualifications at the secondary level.

  • “Parent”: A user responsible for managing a student’s account and payments, who can act as a Payee.

  • “Payee”: A person making payments for Our services, either student or parent/guardian/school/Trust.

  • “Privacy Policy”: The official document explaining how we handle data, found at our Privacy Policy link.

  • “Progress”: Refers to an increase in grades achieved in assessments (including school/sixth form/college assessments) over a period of one or more years.

  • “Prospective Student”: Someone interested in but not yet enrolled in our services.

  • “Rights”: All forms of intellectual property such as copyrights (all materials and resources available via our website and email being copyright intellectual property) and trademarks.

  • “Student”: A registered participant enrolled in one or more of our courses.

  • “Material”: Content created or submitted by users on our platform.

  • “STA” / “we” / “us” / “our”: Refers to Science Tuition Academy.

  • “User” / “you” / “your”: Anyone accessing or using our website, whether a student or guardian.

  • “Website”: Our main site at _______________ and all related subdomains.

1.1. These definitions apply whether a term is used in the singular or plural.

1.2. In this Agreement:

1.2.1. Section headings are for reference only and do not affect interpretation.
1.2.2. “Writing” includes email or similar communications.
1.2.3. Words denoting one gender cover all genders; singular terms cover the plural and vice versa; references to individuals include companies, partnerships, and associations.
1.2.4. References to a party include its representatives, successors, and permitted assigns.
1.2.5. Clause references are to clauses in this Agreement.


2. Enrolling in a Course

2.1. Eligibility

  • You confirm you’re legally able to enter into this contract.

  • If the prospective student is under 18, a parent or guardian must give full consent. Both the minor and the adult must acknowledge these Terms.

  • If we discover a student under 18 enrolled without consent, we may cancel their access immediately.

2.2. Parent Accounts

  • Parents may create and manage an account for their child.

  • For children under 13 or without their own email, the parent’s address must be used.

  • By registering, the parent accepts these Terms on behalf of the linked student and any future student they add.

2.3. Account Setup

  • You must supply a valid email address at sign-up.

  • Confirm that address by clicking the link we send.

  • Set a secure password and keep it confidential.

  • The User is accountable for all actions taken under their account, even if another User accesses the account.

2.4. Course Access

  • Courses bought on this site are for the enrolled student’s use only.

  • We may add, change, or remove courses from sale at any time.

  • Once you enrol, you’ll receive login details granting access to your chosen content package.

2.5. Data Use & Privacy

  • We’ll use your enrolment data to deliver courses, improve our service, and meet legal obligations in line with our Privacy Policy.

  • You must provide correct age information so we comply with UK data-protection laws.

2.6. Cancellation & Termination

  • You can cancel your enrolment by following our cancellation steps; refunds follow our published refund policy.

  • We may terminate your access at any time, without notice, if you breach these Terms or act disruptively.


3. Using the Services

3.1. Online Access Only

  • Science Tuition Academy is only available through our website.

3.2. Student Commitment

  • Courses demand regular effort and participation.

  • Some modules take more time than others, and progress may not be linear.

  • Extended inactivity can lower your course score; We are not responsible for any drop in performance due to inactivity.

3.3. Licence & Access

  • Enrolment grants each student a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use our Website during the term of the course subscribed to.

  • Only the named student—and their linked parent for account administration—may access the content.

  • Parents supervise but do not receive a separate licence to use course materials.

3.4. Prohibited Uses

Users will not:

  • Sell, share, transfer, or commercially exploit any part of our Website, courses, lessons or materials.

  • Modify or create derivative works from our content.

  • Embed our site inside another application (e.g., via an iframe).

  • Reverse-engineer or copy our site’s design, code, or features to build a competing product.

3.5. Security & Integrity

Users will not:

  • Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.

  • Disrupt the service, servers, or networks.

  • Attempt unauthorised access to any part of MyEdSpace.

  • Overload our systems with excessive requests.

3.6. Software Development

  • You cannot use our Website or its interface, logic, or database as part of developing any software or technology, except where permitted by law.

3.7. Course Updates

  • We may revise course content or resources to align with exam-board specification changes or improve materials.

  • Updates do not entitle you to free access to new or additional courses.

3.8. No Pausing

  • Courses must be completed within the allotted timeframe; they cannot be paused.

3.9. Content & Schedule Changes

  • We reserve the right to adjust course dates, scheduling or materials at any time, even mid-course, without prior notice.

3.10. Code of Conduct

  • All students must comply with our Code of Conduct available on our website.


4. How We Handle Your Information

4.1. You agree to give us accurate, complete details whenever we ask.
4.2. Even after this contract ends, we keep the rights to anything you’ve uploaded.
4.3. We won’t share your sensitive personal data with anyone else unless you explicitly allow it.
4.4. You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.

5. Prices and Payment

5.1. Price Changes

  • All prices are correct at publication but may change at any time without warning. Users and parents will be informed.

5.2. Who Pays

  • A student (with any required consent) can pay for their own course, or a parent can pay on their behalf.

5.3. Payment Security

  • We take reasonable steps to protect your payment details using standard security measures, but we are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised third-party access unless we’ve been negligent.

5.4. Late or Missing Payments

  • Failure to pay on time may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.


6. Support & Technical Requirements

6.1. If you have questions or complaints about the site or courses, email tutors.sta@gmail.com.
6.2. Our website works best on a desktop or laptop with a fast broadband connection. We cannot guarantee it will work on mobiles or tablets.
6.3. You must keep your web browser up to date. Old browsers may not display our content correctly, and we’re not responsible for issues caused by outdated software.


7. Intellectual Property & Your Submitted Work

7.1. All course materials, site design, logos, and content remain our property (or our licensors’). You gain no ownership rights by using them.
7.2. Don’t copy, adapt, post, transmit, or distribute our materials unless we explicitly invite you to.
7.3. When you upload work (text, videos, answers, etc.), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, modify, and share it in any format.
7.4. You waive any “moral rights” in your submissions so we can adapt or publish them without further permission.
7.5. We may collect data on your progress and results to improve our services and create anonymous reports.


8. Cancellation & Termination

8.1. Live Classes

  • You can cancel within 14 working days of purchase for a full refund.

  • If you buy before the course starts, you have 14 working days from the first class date to cancel.

8.2. Pre-Recorded Courses

  • You can get a full refund within 14 working days of purchase—only if you haven’t accessed, downloaded, or streamed any content.

  • Once you access the material, the course becomes non-refundable.

8.4. We may suspend or end your access immediately if you breach these Terms, act dishonestly, or in our opinion harm our reputation and interests.


9. Warranties & Liability

9.1. You confirm that anything you submit is your own original work, does not infringe anyone’s rights, isn’t unlawful or defamatory, and contains no harmful code, viruses or anything that could damage, interfere with our systems or data.
9.2. If someone sues us over your content or you breach these Terms, you must cover our costs and defend us.
9.3. We aim for accuracy but provide our Website and courses/course material “as is.” We make no guarantees it will always work perfectly, be error-free, or free of viruses.
9.4. Our total liability for any loss is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant course.
9.5. We are not liable for indirect losses (like lost profits) or for delays and failures outside our control (e.g., internet outages or force majeure) or acts of third parties.
9.6. We’ve taken reasonable steps to secure your data, but we can’t promise against every possible breach.
9.7. For live courses with support or communication via chat, availability and response times may vary.


10. Referral Programme

The Referral Programme where students can earn rewards by recommending us to peers has been going strong since 2021.

10.1. Who can refer

  • Only Active Payees—those currently enrolled in and paying for a course, past their 14-day refund window—can make referrals.

10.2. Who counts as a new customer

  • A New Customer is someone not already signed up for any of our courses.

  • They must use your unique referral link or code to enrol and pay for a full-year course.

10.3. Rewards

  • You (the Referrer) receive a £50 multi-retailer voucher once the New Customer’s first payment clears and they don’t request a refund within 14 days.

  • The New Customer (Referee) gets £50 off their course fee when paying for the first month’s payment.

10.4. Limits & conditions

  • There’s no cap on how many vouchers you can earn.

  • This offer only applies to full-year courses, or monthly plans.

  • It’s for personal use only—any taxes on vouchers are your responsibility.

  • We may share first names of Referrer and Referee; if you object, do not share your code or participate.

  • We can change or cancel the referral scheme at any time, but any referrals already made remain valid.

  • Our decision on any dispute is final.


11. Miscellaneous

11.1. Subcontracting & assignment

  • We may subcontract services or transfer our rights under these Terms without notifying you.

  • You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written consent.

11.2. Changes to these Terms

  • We can update these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will appear on our website.

11.3. Entire agreement

  • This document is the complete agreement between us. It replaces all prior discussions or promises.

11.4. Third-party rights

  • Only you and Us (and our successors/assignees) may enforce these Terms.

11.5. Waiver

  • If we delay enforcing a right, it doesn’t mean we waive it. A single or partial exercise of a right doesn’t prevent further enforcement.

11.6. Severability

  • If any part of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in full effect.
